Dear Lord,

I cannot help all who knock upon my door. It is easier to ignore those who ask, than to tell them I cannot help. If we give to the needy, we should not give so much. What you ask does not coincide with our own ministry. Why are your ideas, greater than those that already exist? Lord, you did not help everyone, so it is o.k. that I also not help everyone. Lord, these are their words, those who will not help me. Lord, if I spoke the same words before you, what would you say to me? Lord, am I to live my life, as you would live? Lord, am I to believe the above words; are those which you live by? Lord, when will you send me those, who believe in building greater things, for your glory?

Matthew 25: 35-45

Humanitarian Corner

Millard Fuller

Millard Dean Fuller (January 3, 1935 – February 3, 2009) was the founder and former president of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit organization known globally for building houses for those in need, and the founder and former president of The Fuller Center for Housing. Fuller was widely regarded as the leader of the modern-day movement for affordable housing and had been honored for his work in the United States and abroad.

During our lives, someone comes about, who inspires us to become a better person and who teaches us, by their own actions, the importance of being a less selfless person. Mr. Millard Fuller was the person who I came to know, who taught me the importance of humanitarianism.  Helping other people is perhaps one of the greatest feelings one can experience, regardless of how little or how much you give.  That is why I am dedicating this area of our website to Mr. Millard Fuller.

~ Each of us in our own way can try to spread compassion into people's hearts. Western civilizations these days place great importance on filling the human 'brain' with knowledge, but no one seems to care about filling the human 'heart' with compassion. This is what the real role of religion is. ~
